Lectures, talks and forums on a range of issues and for different audiences are produced or hosted by the Library. These include regular events and special programs.
Throughout the year the Library holds a range of talks and forums related to the exhibitions it presents. These include floor talks by the curators as well as forums with experts.
The Library hosts occasional lecture series as well as annual orations such as the Stephen Murray-Smith Lecture and the Redmond Barry Lecture.
The Library's Experimedia space hosts a series of free public presentations which explore information in the rapidly changing digital age.
Experimedia presents a series of free public forums in which experts in a given field talk about the technology and ideas involved in their work.
The History Council of Victoria runs a series of free seminars at the State Library of Victoria to showcase new historical scholarship.
